International students on the Global Master in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility take part in the residential stage in Barcelona to explore business practices
Over the course of two intensive weeks, the students on the Global Master in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at EAE Business School had a unique experience on their residential stage in Barcelona. Focusing on the sustainable management of companies and organizations, the program gave the participants a practical immersive insight into the reality of the Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility sector.
The students had the opportunity to interact with experts and leaders in the field of sustainability, as well as gaining a first-hand look at business practices related to environmental, social and governance criteria on visits to different companies, such as:
- Visit to Sabadell Zurich: The participants met the CEO of Sabadell Seguros Bernardino Gómez Aritmendi, and other members of the Board of Directors, including Clara Armengol, Jordi García, Rene Rimpler and José María Montané, to discuss the importance of sustainability in the insurance sector.
- Visit to Unilever: They learned about the sustainability model of this leading multinational on a visit to its plant in Barcelona.
- Meeting at the Sant Joan Despí Town Council: Participants met the members of the town’s Sustainability Department to understand how to manage the sustainability policy from the public sphere.
- Sporting activity for development, with Street Soccer: Participants took part in a day of sport for development, exploring how sport can act as a tool to drive social change, organized in collaboration with Street Soccer.
Moreover, the program included a number of masterclasses focusing on sustainability and social impact, with talks by Isabel Nogueroles on Bcorp Certification, Pauline Seguin from Allirah Health on the Madame Furoshiki’s success story, Eduardo Rodríguez, the Financial Director of Educo, Ramon Garriga from Return, Nestor Catalan from Plasticpeople, Jason Michalski from Upshot UK and Marie Mélinon from Climate Fresk who discussed “The Climate Wall”
The residential stage at EAE Barcelona gave the participants a dynamic, practical experience that rounded off their online training, boosting their knowledge and skills in Marketing and Commercial Management for Sustainability and CSR. This holistic approach to Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility prepares students to lead the change in a business world that is increasingly aware of its impact on the environment and society.
